Local Houston woman to donate 2,000 trees to American Forests project

Montvale, NJ: Good Earth® is proud to announce Sara Middlemist of Houston, Texas, as the second place winner in the first-ever Good Earth Giveaway. In the spirit of giving, Sara has not only won $2,000 for herself but Good Earth will also be donating $2,000 on her behalf to a charity of her choice, American Forests. Sara’s donation will help to plant 2,000 trees in her home state of Texas. The Good Earth Giveaway kicked off this spring on April 22nd and encouraged socially conscious individuals like Sara to participate for a chance to win big for themselves and for charity.

The decision to choose the national nonprofit organization American Forests was an easy and natural one for Sara as a biology teacher and someone concerned about environmental issues. American Forests’ mission and Sara’s are one and the same, to grow a healthier world. “Just recently a huge number of trees surrounding my subdivision were cut down to make way for more houses,” said Sara, “I couldn’t be happier to be given the chance to help my home state, working with Good Earth to plant additional trees in Texas.”

“American Forests is proud to be selected by Sara Middlemist who recognizes the devastating effects of the loss of trees in her community as well as across the globe,” said Deborah Gangloff, executive director for American Forests, “We are pleased to be able to plant 2,000 new trees in honor of Good Earth and their Good Earth Giveaway winner.”

As an advocate for environmental responsibility, Good Earth Tea & Coffee is thrilled that the chosen charity is an environmental one. “Our goal with the Good Earth Giveaway is not only to reward our customers,” said Deborah Glasser, marketing director at Good Earth, “but also to raise awareness and encourage Americans to do good by giving back to their communities, and the environment.”
