Tata Consultancy Services rated as Company of the Year 2018 in Latin America
Nexus 2018 Illuminate Awards recognize TCS for comprehensive solutions and services it provides from Latin America to clients in the United States and Europe
San Francisco | Mumbai: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, has been named as the ‘Nearshore Company of the Year’ in the third edition of the Nexus Illuminate Awards, which celebrate excellence in services.
TCS was recognized for its expansive operations in Latin America, which consist of 6,000 professionals providing a comprehensive range of services to clients in global markets, including the United States and Europe.
“This award is the result of our commitment to offer a high level of value from our operations in Latin America to our global clients in their digital transformation journeys towards becoming a Business 4.0 enterprise,” said Rajeev Gupta, director of Latin America Nearshore operations at Tata Consultancy Services. “We are honored to be recognized at the 2018 Nexus Illuminate awards, which celebrate the work of a rapidly evolving industry.”
“We have been growing steadily year over year in the region, because we have established a solid team and continue to digitally train our workforce and recruit new talent in the eight countries from which we operate,” added Marcelo Wurmann, CEO of TCS Latin America. “We will continue to invest in the region and our Business 4.0 framework, where digital technologies such as cloud, automation, agility, business intelligence, and robotics are having a significant impact in our clients’ businesses and act as key competitive differentiators.”
TCS, which was recognized as a Top Employer in Latin America for the fourth year in a row, recently expanded in the region, with the opening of a new center in Brazil that can cater to 4,000 employees, and an extension of its offices in Colombia. It is also engaged in a major community drive to train up 190,000 STEM professionals across Latin America.

The winners were of the Nexus Illuminate Awards were selected by the editorial team of Nearshore Americas’s Media Group, and the award was presented to TCS during a special Nexus 2018 ceremony in San Francisco, California. In addition, three TCS executives participated as panelists at sessions titled,
“Guadalajara and its benefits for IT companies” and “The State of Nearshore Delivery as Digital Commands Higher Performance.”
