Tata Technologies opens all-new North American Engineering and Innovation Center in Troy, Michigan; reveals eMO commercial variant
New home to the Tata Technologies Vehicle Programs Development group
Troy: Tata Technologies, a leading global provider of engineering services and product development IT, announced the opening of its all-new North American Engineering and Innovation Center in Troy, Michigan. The 10,000 square foot facility, located at 800 Tower Drive, Suite 200, in Troy, is currently staffed with 60 engineering professionals and the company expects to increase that number to 100 by December 2013.
The new Engineering and Innovation Center is the North American home to the Tata Technologies Vehicle Programs Development (VPD) group, headed by Kevin Fisher, president, vehicle programs development. Mr Fisher’s home office is located in the new center. The VPD group is responsible for the development of the Tata Technologies eMO (electric MObility) landmark EV study revealed at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, in January of last year. The VPD group supports automotive OEMs worldwide from metro Detroit and three other automotive centers of excellence in Coventry (UK), Pune (India), and Stuttgart (Germany).
eMO variant revealing
Fisher and the VPD group will host an open house for industry media and other guests on Thursday, March 14, from 10am-2pm, providing demonstrations of Tata Technologies’ thought-provoking initiatives for the current and future global automotive landscape – including the revealing of eMO-C, an all-new variant of eMO, aimed at a specific white space in the commercial market.
“We studied the global commercial market, analyzed the competition and emerging technology trends, and evolved the eMO to produce a compelling, best-in-class commercial concept,” Mr Fisher said. “We’re looking forward to revealing eMO-C to the media and to the public on March 14.”
