Tata Chemicals (Soda Ash) Partners announces winners of 2015 Wyoming Scholarship Program
$6,000 in scholarships awarded to three Wyoming-based college students at a ceremony on July 29
Green River, Wyoming: Tata Chemicals (Soda Ash) Partners today announced the three winners of their 2015 Wyoming Scholarship Program. This year’s honorees include students from both the Western Wyoming Community College and the University of Wyoming: Garrett Easton of Rock Springs, WY, Kasey Turnbull of Green River, WY, and Kylia Siddoway of Lyman, WY. The three students will be recognized on July 29, 2015, during a ceremony held in their honor at Tata Chemicals’ Green River facility.
“Our scholarship program is part of our ongoing local effort to promote growth and stability within our community, and develop an ongoing pool of talent here in Wyoming,” said Martin Keighley, CEO and MD, Tata Chemicals North America. “We are thrilled that the growth of our program over the last three years has allowed us to expand our application pool, to support students enrolled at local community colleges, and the University of Wyoming. The winners of this year’s scholarship program have demonstrated energy, enthusiasm and integrity in the pursuit of excellence in their chosen areas of study, and we are proud to recognize them for it.”
Launched in 2013, Tata Chemicals’ Wyoming Scholarship Program aimed to provide financial assistance to dependents of company employees enrolled at the Western Wyoming Community College students, This year, for the first time in the program’s history, students attending the University of Wyoming were eligible to apply for the scholarship as well. Applicants were evaluated based on academic excellence, leadership, goals and aspirations.
The 2015 scholarship winners will share in awards ranging from $1,000 to $2,500, which they will receive at the luncheon ceremony at Tata Chemicals’ Green River facility, taking place on July 29, 2015 from 12 –1pm. Managers from Tata Chemicals will attend the event to join the students and their family members in celebrating this achievement.
