Tata Global Beverages
Tata Global Beverages represents the world’s second-largest global branded tea operation with a presence in over 40 countries
Tata Global Beverages is an integrated beverage business that has set out on a journey to become a global leader in branded natural beverages through innovation, strategic acquisition and organic growth. With an annual turnover of US$1.6 billion, it is the world’s second-largest player in tea.
Formerly known as Tata Tea, Tata Global Beverages diversified and expanded significantly over the last decade. It now employs around 3,000 people with a significant presence in over 40 countries worldwide. The company is headquartered in Mumbai, India, and unites the beverage interests of Tata under one umbrella.
With over 200 years of history in the beverage market and a heritage of innovation and development, Tata Global Beverages has successfully evolved from a predominantly domestic Indian tea farming company to a marketing and brand-focused global organization with a portfolio of strong brands.
Its global expansion is highlighted by the fact that over 65 percent of the consolidated revenue originates from markets outside India. More than 90 percent of turnover is delivered by its branded products.
Tata Global Beverages has developed a stable of leading global and regional brands. In the US, the business is best known for Eight O'Clock Coffee, Good Earth and Tetley.
Tata Global Beverages set out on a path of global ambition with the acquisition of Tetley in 2000. Tetley Tea, a household name in Britain and also present now with a new range in the US and Canada, was Tata’s first key international acquisition. Tetley has built on its long-established role as one of the major suppliers of Britain’s traditional beverage and has now launched a wide range of innovative products in the US and Canada.
Tetley is the market leader in tea in Canada with over 45 flavors of delicious tea ranging from its original Orange Pekoe to specialty teas such as 100 percent steamed green tea, cocktail-inspired herbal teas and many more for consumers of all ages.
Tetley is now available in Tassimo T-Discs in seven great flavors under a licensing agreement with Kraft.
The brand recently announced that all of its tea used globally will come from Rainforest Alliance-certified farms by 2016. This will have a significant impact on both the Tetley brand and the global tea sector.
In the US, Tetley also offers a range of teas made with the world’s finest tea leaves. These include hot teas as well as teas specially formulated for iced drinks. In the tradition of English breakfast teas, Tetley British Blend delivers a rich, robust taste experience and is also available in Keurig K-Cups.

Eight O'Clock Coffee
Eight O'Clock Coffee was already established as America’s best-selling whole-bean coffee when it joined the Tata family in 2006. Today, Eight O’Clock remains a strong brand as the third-largest bagged coffee (volume) brand in the US packaged coffee market.
Eight O’Clock, America’s original gourmet coffee, has been delighting coffee lovers for more than 150 years and was named one of ‘America’s Greatest Brands’ in 2010. Best known for their No1 whole bean coffee, Eight O’Clock Coffee offers a full line of gourmet coffee in ground and whole bean form, as well as K-Cup® packs for Keurig® brewers. Eight O’Clock Coffee is headquartered in Montvale, NJ. The beans are roasted and packaged in Landover, Maryland.
The brand has reinvented itself at regular intervals. Recently, Eight O’Clock introduced a new stylish package and new varieties via a red carpet event at New York Fashion Week.
